Hosted by Dr. Angel Hoekstra, University of Colorado Boulder (Sociology)

In this talk, Angel Hoekstra will present findings from her doctoral and postdoctoral research showing that clickers are particularly useful for supporting critical thinking in (large) group discussions. Utilizing interdisciplinary data and insights gained from years of teaching with clickers, Dr. Hoekstra discusses how to use clicker responses and supportive pedagogical practices to encourage a wider variety of students to speak up in class discussions. Teachers and scholars from all disciplines are welcome, but faculty from the arts, humanities, and social sciences are particularly encouraged to attend.
